Exercise Essentials
It’s time to check out the exercise essentials! You watched for the past several weeks while we built our Home Gym. We chose the best décor with the best motivational colors, the best accessories for balance, flexibility and strength workouts, the best equipment for endurance and strength exercises. And now we are excited to be in our last phase of our series where we stock the gym with a few items to help get the most out of your workout. Your exercise essentials.

Essentials
We added Music for motivation, Water for hydration, Cooling Towels to stay dry, Disinfectant cloths to stay germ-free, and a Fitbit (or journal) to record your progress.
Exercise Essentials: Music
Music can change your mood and your enthusiasm for your workout. Pick the right playlist to get you through your routine wishing you had enough time to start again! Do you exercise to music?
Amazon Music for your PC (tap the amazon image below to shop other device options) detects and adds new music to your library even if you bought it from iTunes or ripped a CD. Your music library will always be organized and up-to-date. And it gets even better for Amazon Prime customers because they get unlimited, ad-free access to over a million songs and hundreds of playlists for free.

Exercise Essentials: Water
It’s very important to stay hydrated during your workout and water is your best option. Use a dispenser to fill your water bottle as needed, or fill a bottle with cold water (leave in the fridge overnight so it’s cold). Try a fruit-infused drink after you workout to replenish fluids and electrolytes. Drink a glass of water before your workout, then as needed during your workout.

Exercise Essentials: Towels
We often think of those great absorbent, cooling towels, when we need it the most, during our workout. Don’t worry, we have plenty of cooling towels so we don’t need to stop our workout to look for a towel. It’s also a good, inexpensive way to add some color to the gym!

Exercise Essentials: Disinfectant Wipes
Keep your gym germ-free by wiping down your equipment. This will prevent anyone else using the gym from getting that nasty cold you have (and make sure that you don’t get it back next week). A disinfectant wipe can go a long way towards making your gym a germ-free environment. So be sure to wipe down your equipment for your next germ-free workout.

Now Track Your Progress
Whether you invest in a fitbit to record your progress, or use a journal to chart your activities, once you have a record of your activities, you can review how much you’ve accomplished each month. This is very motivational! If you have done less than you thought, you’ll want to do more. If you did more than you thought, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at just what you can accomplish when you set your goals and work at them. You can use a fitbit, a journal, or go to one our exercise pages, print your favorites and write your progress on the back of the page.
And Viola – it’s that simple!
Now that you have an idea of what your Dream Gym can be, add some of our tips and look forward to your next workout. And remember, no matter what your gym looks like, or what equipment is in it, be sure to get your exercise in each of these four groups every week:
Staying active is important for you, important for your lifetime!
