Take Time for You This Christmas Season!

Christmas HollyYou could say “this is the worst time of year to exercise! There is too much to do.” And you’d be right, and depending on where you live, it gets dark earlier and a bit colder too. And, with the holidays there is so much to do. There are gifts to buy and wrap, parties to host and lots of parties to attend. Besides, it’s not like anyone will see you in a bathing suit for months (if it’s cold outside)!

But what about you?

Sure you could skip exercising and, assuming that if you did exercise you’d find about 30 minutes 3 times a week to stay fit. Skipping it completely means you ‘get back’ about 1 ½ hours a week.

But really, is 1 ½ hours very much a week anyway? And if you DID exercise just 20-30 minutes a day, you would have more energy during the holidays to do what you need to do. Yes, about a half hour of exercise about 3 times a week is all is takes to have more energy. And if you suffer from depression during the holidays, exercise is one of the best ways to try to beat the blues. Yes, it’s very difficult to find the motivation to want to exercise, especially now, but it is truly worth it. Your muscles will love you for it.

  1. Great post, the planner and the journal are such a good idea. I’ve not been able to get out for a walk much since the darker afternoons/evenings have arrived however… I have started to use my iPad and You Tube in the kitchen whilst I’m washing up or tidying up and dancing like a diva. I’m loving it!

    1. Wonderful Dawn – that sounds like fun! I know, the days getting darker both earlier and later along with the chill in the air, it’s a little tough to get outside, but dancing in the kitchen sounds like a fabulous idea! Thanks for the tip, I’m going to try that too!
